Reverse Dieting

Hello! Hello! It's been a moment since I've made time to sit and put my thoughts 'onto paper'. This year has already been great, unexpected and fun! January I hit it back into the gym. No 'new year, new me'- just actually had time to get there and crush out some great workouts. February I did the same. March I did not. March I went back to at home workouts and incorporated kettle bells. I guess I actually started more kettle bell in February, but "it's a horse a piece".
Something else I started in 2018 is reverse dieting. I picked up with ADO Fitness under coach Jen.
In the words of ADO owner, Amber Dawn Fokken when explaining Reverse Dieting, she writes "Basically you strategically and slowly bring your calories, carbs, and fat intake up from the deficit you were in previous to reaching your goals in order to avoid extreme fat gain/weight fluctuations and try to maintain a lean physique even while eating a more maintainable level of macros."
Jen has my macros set somewhere around around 1750 kcal, 115 protein, and my CHO are165 (I think). This is on non lift days. Lift days I'm much higher and I also have a refeed day 1x week if I'm compliant during the week (eek). I track this with an app called Stupid Simple Macros. I tried a few other apps and they just didn't work for me. And to pay a monthly cost instead of a 1x cost just seemed ridiculous. In terms of being on point with hitting my macors- I must say it is hard for me to stick it with literally 100%, hit my macros 100% and get my workouts in 100% and still do me as a wife, mom and employee. But I must say I do 85/ 90%. It has me realizing where my mental capacity is for tough things. I'm not quite there- ready to take on mentally tough tasks that require me to REALLY focus all my grit and effort and every bit of will power. I'm in the mental capacity to have some accountability for my actions, track my food and not go h.a.a.m as I had been doing with my binges.
Having a trip planned for end of May is for certainly a great goal to have in site. Now that it's closer and I have the actual items I will be wearing on said vacation, it helps to stay focused.
I'm not here to tell you all about reverse dieting and how it does what it does. I'm here to say "Man, reverse dieting has really helped me to remain in line with my goals while also remaining human AF with my love for sweets."
I am considering doing it on my own until Cancun. We shall see which way I decide to go.
Till then ~ Happy Spring
